Colored contacts are a fun way to change your look at a nice low cost.   In the early days of colored contact lenses, only people with light eye colors were able to wear them.  The lenses simply were not opaque enough, and dark eye colors easily showed through the lens.

Luckily, these days the advances in contact lens technology have allowed for easy production of contact lenses manufactured specifically for people that have dark colored eyes.  The middle circle of the contact lens is clear so you can still see normally, without any tinting from the colored lens.
